Ted Jones was born in Dublin in 1952. Apart from early instruction from his father, he is a completely self taught painter, and as a consequence, his style has evolved uninfluenced and unencumbered. Jones has spent periods in France and England, however most of his life has been spent in Ireland, principally in Dublin and Killarney. He had his first one-man show was in 2005, and his success has continued in recent years. His emotionally charged portraits of people, pub scenes and nudes are of a distinctive style and are included in many collections worldwide.
