Born in Dublin in 1979, Michael Morris is a self taught painter whose travels have helped in honing a unique style that is individual and immediately recognizable. Following his own path, he gained a clear perspective on what he wanted to create. His travels took him through France, Rome, Venice and Spain, and while Ireland remains his main subject matter, his work has a vibrancy, which seems to be suffused with both French flair and Mediterranean light. He has exhibited widely throughout Ireland, including the Royal Ulster Academy Exhibition. It is little surprise that his work has been received to critical acclaim, he is clearly an emerging artist of substance.
