Gladys Maccabe HRUA FRSA MBE 1918 - 2018

Born in Co. Antrim during the First World War, Gladys Maccabe has painted all her life, establishing herself as one of the important Irish women artists of the 20th Century. Founder of the Ulster Society of Women Artists, she has been the recipient of many prestigious awards during her lifetime. Her distinctive style has broad appeal and her work is part of many major national collections including The Arts Council of Ireland, The National Self Portrait Collection and The Ulster Museum.
