Anne Merrins was born in Dublin, emigrating with her family to Canada as a 15 year old. She painted and exhibited extensively in Canada, including an important show in Montreal in 1985, when she exhibited alongside Cecil Maguire and Markey Robinson. Returning to live in Ireland in 1990, she has continued her career as an artist, exhibiting widely, and in 1992 she received the “Watercolour of Exceptional Merit” award at the Royal Hibernian annual exhibition.
