Born in Naul Co. Dublin in 1946, James English has exhibited widely over an artistic career of almost 40 years. After a period in horse racing, he studied art in the National College of Art and Design. He first exhibited work in 1974 and was elected a member of the Royal Hibernian Academy in 2005.
