The Irish figurative painter and artist Graham Knuttel was born in Dublin in 1954 of German and English parents. Knuttel considers himself to be Irish or more specifically ‘A Dubliner’. He attended the Dun Laoghaire School of Art and Design, where he gained a Diploma in fine art painting and sculpture. Knuttel has now emerged as a painter with an international reputation, using colour and form to express the emotion of his figures, with work in many collections worldwide, including the Arts Council of Ireland, University College Dublin and the Hugh Lane Gallery.
