Alan Kenny b.1959

Alan Kenny’s artistic journey has involved dramatic changes in style. Initially a painter in the plein air tradition, his earlier landscapes were quite conventional. After many years, he abandoned traditional landscape to develop his own American-flavoured dream-like vision. Today, he is recognised for his colourful, imaginative and largely narrative paintings, boasting a vast array of themes, such as musicians in a romantic, melodious aura with an idyllic sense of fun and humour. A key component is his rampant, irresistible exploitation of colour, creating an almost stained-glass effect.
